Join us for a Friendship BBQ to welcome our teachers and school families back to school. Sunday, 19 August, 12:30 PM- 2:00 PM.

Delicious Texas BBQ and potato salad will be provided. Please bring a side to share with your fellow members and guests. Sign-up Online to sign-up. You may drop it off in the church kitchen on Sunday the 19th before or after the services.

We are also looking for a few good Lutherans to help with clean-up afterward. If you can help, contact Mike Jeffers (our Fellowship Chairman) or call the church office at 713 782 6079. Remember many hands make for light work! We need your help!

From the Pastor

"Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Peter's answer to Jesus' question stands as a firm reminder for us. Jesus has the words of eternal life, "spirit and life." Where do we go to receive Jesus and these words? We go to the services of the Church. Sunday provides us with the Divine Service. Monday through Friday also provide us with the preached word in Matins and Morning Prayer. Certainly we go to Bible class and Sunday School. Here we receive Jesus' words of spirit and life. But we also can go to the classrooms of our day school. Memorial Lutheran School is a place where the words of spirit and life are taught every day. Lutherans have schools precisely for this purpose: to teach their own children and the children of the community the word of Christ. Jesus has the words of eternal life and he gives them to us, so that we would have what he gives: forgiveness, life and salvation.

Got Coffee Skills??

We are STILL looking for a coffee fellowship volunteer to make coffee on the second Sunday of every month. This entails making multiple pots of coffee (scooping grounds and pressing buttons) in preparation for the time period between the services. For more information contact Mike Jeffers (Fellowship Chair).
