No other way? (John 14:1-14)
How do people know and believe that Jesus is the only true God? Well, actually, they don't. People have absolutely no way of finding out the one true God unless it is revealed to them by God himself with the help of His word. The confessions correctly say, "the Spirit enlightens and converts hearts through the Word that is proclaimed and heard, so that people believe the word and say yes to it." When Jesus says, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life," He makes an exclusive claim that He is the only true God. In holy Greek, "I am" means God! This is good news indeed because the only true God alone can lead people toward the right way that leads to eternal life. No wonder that there is no other way. Amen.
