From the Pastor
Not Ordinary Food
Jesus' hearers were anxious to have Him provide bread for them. Who would not prefer bread for which he did not have to work? Come on God! Can't you take care of our daily needs? But this is not the bread that the Lord Jesus promises us. He Himself is the bread of life (John 6:35). This bread which has come down from heaven is far greater than daily sustenance, because in it eternal life is promised to those who eat it. Jesus sets the altar of our church with this bread every Sunday. How we hunger to receive it! For those who eat it, there is no more hunger and no more thirst. This is not ordinary food. Come, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Sunday's Scripture Readings & Hymns

Hymns: LSB   648, 918, 636, 652, 554
Got Coffee Skills??
We are looking for a coffee fellowship volunteer to make coffee on the second Sunday of every month. This entails making multiple pots of coffee in preparation for the time period between the services.   For more information contact Mike Jeffers (Fellowship Chair).
A VBS Thank You
Thank you to all of our VBS attendees, donors, and our amazing volunteers that made MLCS VBS such a success!

90 children were taught all about baptism and what it means to be Baptized into Christ. Way to go, VBS!
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
