Sing and Give Joy With MLC Carolers!
Please join us after second service next week on 17 December as we go caroling to our shut-ins.
All are welcome!
We will meet in the narthex directly after second service. We will go for a quick lunch at Jason's Deli and then meet back at the church to begin the route. Music and Maps will be provided. We hope to make 4 stops.
From the Pastor
O
O! Advent has come again! And that's what it's all about. Advent means coming. Who is coming? Our Lord Jesus Christ. When is he coming? We don't know. But we know that he promises to come. He who once came in our flesh of the Virgin Mary will come again to rescue us from this present evil age (Galatians 1:4). For this we cry and hope and pray. The ancient church had the simplest prayer: "Come, Lord Jesus!" Our altar paraments remind us of this echoing the advent him: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel! This week we will hear Isaiah tell us that our Lord will rend the heavens wide and come down with mighty stride (Isaiah 64:1)! It is also our prayer: Come, Lord Jesus!
