LWIM- BIG Meeting Next Week!
Sunday, 19 November
Immediately following late service
Church Library

Ladies - please join us for a social lunch and a general meeting.  We need to vote on the distribution of our  funds to the selected missions.  We are also looking for a few women to be on the board for  2018.  Do you have ideas to improve our group?  Please bring them to the meeting.  If you are interested in helping out,  please let Janet Taylor or Heather Coulter know.
From the Pastor
On the Basis of Hope
Life with God necessitates constant readiness, even and especially when God does unexpected, confusing, and even dreadful things that are inextricably linked with things of His that are very much expected, clear, and filled with delight. Wisdom recognizes that God is not beyond any and all of this, that God is a God of promises and not of guarantees, and it thus acts accordingly-it has that flask of oil constantly at the ready to keep the trimmed lamp burning, all to ultimately greet God when he finally appears. It acts entirely in and on the basis of hope.

That's how the kingdom of heaven "will be" and how the Resurrected life is, even among us: a God who makes, operates according to, and delivers on promises, bringing into being a people acting entirely in and on the basis of hope-even and especially in the strangest of circumstances.

Pastor St-Onge Asks for Support
Over the last four years, Pastor St-Onge has fallen short of his fundraising goals.   It wouldn't take much to eliminate that debt and help him to move forward in his mission. Thank you for your partnership in sharing the Gospel in Quebec and the Caribbean! Donations are received online through LCMS Office of International Mission at: https://www.lcms.org/givenow/stonge
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Scott R. Murray
