Preparation for Lent
The Transfiguration prepares us for Lent. We in the New Testament church stand on the other side of the resurrection. There are no more uncertainties like those expressed by the disciples, when they were unclear about what the resurrection from the dead meant (Mark 9:10). In the Transfiguration our heavenly Father tells us who this is that says that Son of Man will be raised from the dead. If we follow Him to Golgotha's hill to see him pierced, transfixed and dying we would fall into despair, unless our Father told us who it is that suffers and then rising confirms that He can bring defeat to death through dying. Let's hear our Father say this to us this Sunday.
Sunday's Scripture Readings & Hymns
