Saturday is St. Michael and All Angels Day. "Angel" means messenger. Therefore, every preacher is part of the proclaiming angelic armies. Angels are the messengers of the God who wants the world to know that He has redeemed it through the bloody offering of Christ for sinners. Certainly, the great company of the church's preachers is included among those who are messengers of God. God uses them to proclaim His Word, as all who hold office in His name serve His purposes. Our pastors can be angels. Let us pray that God continues to send us messengers that proclaim His Word to us.
