From the Vicar
The Mission-Minded Savior
Jesus is the mission-minded savior. You are His mission because you are His Father's mission. Jesus isn't baptized, called the beloved Son, and tempted for nothing. He is baptized, anointed, and tempted for you. He lives to win you from the devil for His Father's kingdom. He goes forward as your mighty hero to do battle with the devil so that you might reap the fruits of his well-fought fight: Baptism, Absolution, and His Supper. His weapons are humility and patience, self-denial and faithfulness. Today, he leads you into battle against yourself, the world, and Satan, so that, by His Word, you can live with courage and humility for the good of your neighbor. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Blood Drive Results
A big thank you goes out to those of you who gave your time and/or blood this past Sunday.  Thanks to your generosity, MLC helped our regional blood bank stock up. Here is the break down for our blood drive:

20 successful donors & 23 products collected from 20 donors:
  •      15 whole blood
  •      4 automation (2 units from 4  donations which equals 8 units)
  •     A Total of 23 products
Each blood product can help save three lives, so that is 69 lives impacted!

Still interested in giving but couldn't make Sunday?Until 13 March, you can donate at any Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center location and give our donation code of 1999.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.
