The Parable of the Weeds

Have you ever noticed that a good healthy crop takes so much care and nourishment to grow?  It is such a painstaking process and if left unattended by the farmer, this crop will wither and die.  The injustice here is that weeds are self-sufficient plants that crop up and endure on their own, of their own tenacity.

People can choose to forge ahead on their own and make their own path in life like the weeds, and seemingly flourish, though it is clear what fate awaits them.  The good crop of wheat basks in the weakness and the need for constant care from their gardener.  We as Christians eagerly await the gifts of our heavenly Father; his very word and the body and blood of Christ to nourish us and keep us in the faith.

It is important to take to heart that all things in the farmers field, that is God's creation, are under his control and that his precious wheat will be stored up in his perfect barn for eternity.

Next Week

Pastor Murray will be on Issues, Etc. talking about the parable of the lost sheep (Luke 15:1-7) on Thursday 24 July, 3-4 PM you can listen live Online at http://issuesetc.org/live/
