From the Pastor
The Lord Jesus has, at times, this peculiar way about him, where he shows us our problem by first telling us what the solution to our problem is, and only then do we discover that we 1) have a problem in the first place, and 2) learn what our true problem really is. The Lord Jesus' ultimate response to Thomas-"Stop being unfaithful, but be faithful"-indicates that 1) Thomas has a problem of unfaithfulness to the risen Christ, and that 2) such unfaithfulness takes the form of refusing to come to terms with what the Resurrection entails: satisfaction derived from a prescribed source-the proclaimed word of the Resurrection, of victory over death.
Thank God for a risen Christ who speaks a solution that both highlights and solves the problem we never knew we had, and that brings us to confess him with a satisfaction that never ends.
Effective tonight, the following closures may affect our travel into the Galleria area:
I-610 southbound exit ramp to Post Oak Boulevard will be closed. Detour by taking the San Felipe exit, turn right on San Felipe and then right or left on Post Oak Boulevard. Alternatively, take the San Felipe exit to southbound frontage road and U-turn at San Felipe north, then U-turn again onto the northbound frontage road to Post Oak Boulevard intersection.
I-610 southbound auxiliary lanes between the Woodway/Memorial Drive exit and the Post Oak Boulevard exit will be closed. Four I-610 mainlanes and one frontage road lane will remain open at this location.
The inside lane of the I-610 southbound frontage road from Woodway Drive to Post Oak Boulevard will be closed.
These three closures will be in effect for approximately the next 8 months.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.
We are continuing to replace the parament sets and
the last set to be replaced is the green set. This set is used for much of the year during Pentecost. We are hoping to have a new set in time for Pentecost. Please consider helping us replace this set by making your donation to the parament fund. If you have any questions please contact Martha Fredenburg
