From the Pastor
In this Sunday' reading from the Gospel, Jesus and the Disciples hear about the illness of their friend Lazarus (brother of Mary and Martha).  Upon hearing the news, Jesus assures the Disciples that "this illness does not lead to death."

Two days later Lazarus falls asleep, he dies.  What happened? Did Jesus make an error?  Did He bend the truth?  No, Jesus did not make an error.  Not only does Jesus not bend the truth, He is the truth!  When Jesus said Lazarus' illness does not lead to death, he revealed in advance the miracle that He would accomplish when he would call Lazarus from death to life.

This raising of Lazarus from the dead functions as one of the seven signs found in John's Gospel which point to Jesus as the Messiah.  Yet even this great miracle, the overcoming of Lazarus' death, is overshadowed by the miracle of Jesus' own death and resurrection where he is not called by another, but calls himself from death to life.

With the raising of Lazarus, the one man was brought back from death to life, but died again.  Through the death and the resurrection of Jesus, death has been completely overcome.   We now have eternal life with God for Jesus' sake!
Who's New?

Kyle Molitor is one of our newest members. He recently transfered to MLC and was officially welcomed at our 2 February New Member Sunday. Kyle was born and raised in Anderson, Texas and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  After he found a job in Houston, Kyle moved here and found MLC through friends of his. He is a Civil Engineer at Bury, Inc. working in Land and Site Development.

Outside of work and church Kyle likes to play basketball and spend time hanging out with friends and his dog.

Welcome to MLC Kyle!
