Got Rummage?

LWIM Annual
Rummage Sale
Saturday, 10 October
8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Lutheran Women in Mission's Annual Rummage Sale is just around the corner, and we are accepting donations!  We are accepting gently used items starting SUNDAY 4 October.   Unfortunately we have no where to store items prior to this date. Clean out your closets, garage, storage rooms, and bedrooms and donate your excess to our sale.   Here are a few points to consider when selecting items:  Clothing should be free from stains, tears, and fading.  Electronics need to be in good working order.  Writing and office materials should be unused.  Toys need to be in good working order and not missing any pieces.  Furniture and household items must be functioning properly.

All money raised from the Rummage Sale will be donated to Lutheran Missions. Any questions, please contact Heather Coulter: 832 687 6465.

LWIM appreciates your support and prayers!

The Vocation of Wife
The most vulnerable vocation in the modern society is the vocation of wife.  The threats to the vocation of wife begin even before the marriage! Men either tend to avoid marriage, or look down on it, or even abuse the relationship after marriage. In our gospel text, Jesus mentions how a wife should be treated by her husband. She must be held fast by her husband The intimate relationship between a husband and wife is so unique, that other vocations such as father and mother have to take a back seat in order to allow the estate of marriage to prosper and flourish.  While people try hard to disturb the vocation of wife, God sets himself up to unite husband and wife. Jesus (the man) left his father and mother and held fast to His bride (the church). In the same way, husbands too with the help of the God, sacrifice their lives for their wives so that the vocation of wives may be joyful and pleasing in the sight of God. Amen.
