Wednesdays 29 August - 14 November
5:15 Dinner, 6:00 Classes
Pastor Murray and Vicar will be
team teaching:
Making Lutheranism Great Again: The Formula of Concord.
After the death of Luther, there was theological uncertainty and division among Lutherans. This uncertainty and division was resolved by a clear confession of our faith in the Formula of Concord in 1577. In our day, surrounded as we are by debates and uncertainties, the Formula of Concord is again a wonderful resource for theological learning and biblical understanding.
We need your help!
If you are able to help provide a meal, please contact Mike Jeffers, Fellowship chair or the church office 713 782 6079.

Tradition
Just like everybody else, we have our traditions. Hot dogs at baseball games. Turkey and football at Thanksgiving. Brisket to welcome new members or staff to Memorial Lutheran Church. The word "tradition" carries the idea of handing something over from one person to another. It could be a practice, it could be a thing, it could be a teaching. When it comes to our traditions, we are free to establish and practice them in almost all things. The only restriction might be when the tradition goes against the law and is, therefore, a crime. Worse yet are those traditions that go against or undermine the Word of God and are, therefore, sinful. It is our prayer that all our traditions, whatever they might be, always support and illuminate the preaching, teaching, and apprehension of the one, true Faith. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, grant this Lord to us all!
