Welcome!
Last Sunday on 5 June, MLC welcomed new members to our congregation. We truly are blessed here at MLCS.

Treatment For Sin
The only qualification to receive forgiveness is sin! This is quite paradoxical because people don't want to see sin coming into contact with righteousness. The Pharisee in our gospel text is quite uncomfortable because he doesn't want sin coming into contact with righteousness. It was a teaching moment for Jesus as He explains how He comes into contact with sin! Not to be affected by it, but to treat it and cancel it from the life of a sinner. Ironically, there is no difference between the sinful woman and the Pharisee. Both are sinners. We too are no exception. The treatment for sin is Jesus. When Jesus comes into contact with our sinful lives, He cancels sin and removes it by offering His forgiveness. As a matter of fact, more sin means more forgiveness! Of course, we all know that it is not a license to sin! Amen.
If you have small children (and even if you don't), you can learn the hymns we will be singing in preparation for Sunday. My daughter, Hilary, noticed small children singing hymns from memory in the church she attends in St. Louis and concluded that families were teaching the hymns to them so they could sing them, although they could not read. "Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise" (Ps 84:4)!
Hymns: LSB 793, 834, 915, 559, 924
