From the Pastor
We Are Free Indeed
Early in the Reformation, Luther signed himself Martinus Eleuthros, "Martin the Free." He had in mind the wonderful Gospel lesson for Reformation Day, John 8:31-32: ""If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." He had been freed of his sin through the work and merit of Christ. This was the truth. And that truth was overwhelmingly freeing! It liberates from sin, death, and the devil. This makes us all Eleutheroi, "Free People."
