Who Are the Saints?
This coming Sunday we will celebrate All Saints Day.  When it comes to the saints, there are two basic questions: 1. Who are the saints?  and 2. How did they  become saints?
In the world, the word saint is applied to those who do good works over and above what is expected.  While good works are important, even commendable, good works are not what make us saints.
According to the Scriptures, the saints are those who have been absolved of their sins because of what God has done in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Some saints are now at rest with God.  Others still fight the good fight of the faith in this world.
Becoming a saint is never about our doing, but always about receiving what has been done for us in Christ.

Give Blood!
Sunday 11 November
8:00 AM- 12:30 PM
The last few years we have held blood drives in May, here at MLC and our members saved many lives through donations to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Right before the holidays, the Blood Center needs to stock up and it's time of year again-let's keep donating! Please consider donating blood in the donor coach parked near our gym . The  schedule is wide open! If you would  like to donate, please respond to this  email or call 713 782 6079.  Thank you to those of you who will take a few minutes of your time to GIVE LIFE.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Scott R. Murray
