Who Are the Saints?
This coming Sunday we will celebrate the festival of All Saints.  When it comes to the saints, there are two basic questions: 1. Who are they?  and 2. How did they become saints?
In the world, the word saint is applied to those who do good works over and above what is normal.  While good works are important even commendable, they are not what make us saints.
According to the Scriptures, the saints, the holy ones of God, are those who have been purified of their sins and who are now at peace with God.  Their being saints is not about their doing, but rather about what has been done for them.
Who are the saints?  They are the church of God.  They are the people of God.  They are all those who have received the forgiveness of sin because of the life, death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Happy All Saints day!

We are accepting donations of gently used items from now until the evening of Friday 3 November.  Items can be left in the youth room. Here are a few points to consider when selecting items:
  • Accessories (scarves, etc) should be free from stains, tears, and fading
  • Electronics need to be in good working order
  • Writing and office materials should be unused
  • Toys need to be in good working order and not missing any pieces
  • Furniture and household items must be functioning properly
This sale is LWIM's biggest fundraiser of the year, and the monies raised go directly to missions. Come and shop, support MLC LWIM!

LWIM appreciates your support and prayers!
