Sing and Give Joy With MLC Carolers!
Please join us  after second service THIS week on 17 December as we go caroling to our shut-ins.
                      All are welcome!
We will meet in the narthex directly after second service. We will go for a quick lunch at Jason's Deli and then meet back at the church to begin the route. Music and Maps will be provided. We hope to make 4 stops.
From the Pastor
Witness
In this Sunday's Gospel reading, John, the Baptizer, is described as a witness to the light.  What is a witness?  A witness is a person who gives testimony, who describes what has been seen, or heard, or even revealed.  A witness tells the truth.  What made John such a great witness is he could speak to us about certain truths that had been revealed to him by God.

People asked John, because of his ministry, if he was the Christ, or Elijah, or the Prophet.  John's answer to all these questions was: no! Those same people then asked him: then who are you?  John replied: "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness."  What does that voice cry?  Repent of your sins and look forward to the coming of the one, Jesus, who was sent to forgive all your sins.

The Quempas Carol
is a beautiful tradition dating back to Medieval times. The choir is stationed at the four corners of the sanctuary, symbolizing the proclamation of the Good News of Christ's birth to the four corners of the world. Part of the choir also sings the story of Christ's birth from the balcony. This is a simple, beautiful way to sing with the choir. If you are interested in singing the Quempas Carol at the 10:00 PM candlelight Service on Christmas Eve, or would like more information, please contact  Pastor Ahlman. Older children and adults are encouraged to participate!
