Summer Sunday School Needs YOUR Help!
Thank you for serving! Sign-up online here for the class/dates you would like to co-teach - one or more than one as your schedule permits. There will be two volunteers per class with the exception of the 2 year old class where parents attend with their kids, so you don't have to go it alone. A reminder e-mail will be sent and a copy of the lesson for each class you sign up for will be provided along with the Guidelines for Summer Sunday School. Must be 17 years old or older to sign up. Must sign MLC Youth Protection Policy prior to teaching. If we do not have all spaces filled by FRIDAY 27 May, at 12:00 PM then classes for Summer will be cancelled. Questions? Contact Rev. Gaub 713 782 4022 Chairman, Board of Parish Education.
From the Pastor
Word Processing!
 (John 8:48-59)
The problem with many people is that they don't allow the word to be processed. After hearing the word, people face difficulties in keeping and believing it. The Jews in our gospel text have no problem in hearing the word of Jesus; but they have a problem in processing and keeping it. Failure to keep the word results in separation from God's word. Eternal separation from God's word results in eternal death. However, eternal union with God's word results in eternal life. For Christians, the giver and keeper of the word are the same: Jesus Christ! When Jesus gives us His word, He also keeps it in our hearts and minds by the power of the Spirit. The Spirit helps us to process His word so that we may believe it and keep it. When He keeps His word in us, we neither see nor taste eternal death. So let the word be processed in our hearts!
Amen.
