If you can volunteer to help clean up after the BBQ, please contact Mike Jeffers, Fellowship Chairman, by clicking his name. Remember: Many hands make for light work- help us all get home soon after the BBQ!
From the Pastor
Worship is for Us
God desires not our worship, but He desires with a passionate intensity that we hear what He is doing for us in the service; which is His to us, not ours to Him. He offers the food of His Word that we might eat and live (Is 55), not that we might tell Him what a great cook He is. Since worship is for us its theological adequacy and completeness are central to its usefulness. We are to learn of God's compassion and in learning of it to be set in its midst. The service must ever be the justifying God's to us, never ours to Him. God wants you in service to give Himself to you!
Sunday's Scripture Readings & Hymns

Hymns: LSB  633, 642, 636, 818
Double Your Giving
One of our generous member families has given another gift of $20,000 for our Telugu ministry and a $20,000 gift towards Pastor Wokoma's mission. The gift is given to be matched and will be released for the use of the ministry on a dollar for dollar basis. If you love the these outreaches and want to double your gift, this is a great opportunity. Every dollar you give becomes two dollars. What's not to like?
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Scott R. Murray

College Bound
College Bound, preparation for college from a Christian perspective, will take place on 13 August 2017 during the Sunday School hour at MLC in the youth room. It will be led by Pr. Ian Pacey. The goal  is to help prepare students spiritually and intellectually for the transition from high school to college/university. This meeting is mainly for incoming high school seniors, incoming college students (2yr, 4yr, does not matter), and their parents. Please contact Pr. Pacey or Robert Burmeister for more information.
