Mud Season
Parents, mud season is upon us! As the temperatures climb and rain comes, there is more mud and puddles on our playground area.
You are asked to send in a change of clothing for your child to keep in their cubby here at school in the event that they "find" a puddle and become soaked.
Clean dry pants/leggings, shirt, underwear and socks should be in a bag labeled with your child's name and grade. Thank you for preparing your child for weather changes and outdoor play at school.
Spare Clothing Needed for Younger Grades
As it is now mud season, the health office is getting low on spare pants and leggings. If anyone has any gently used sweat pants or leggings they would like to donate to the health office it would be greatly appreciated!
Tick Season has Begun
Always check yourself, children and pets for ticks after spending time in tall grassy, wooded or brushy areas. If an attached tick is found remove it ASAP using tweezers or a tick spoon. After removing the tick clean the area thoroughly with soap and wa
ter and notify you physician. For more information visit tickfreenh.org
If you have any question or concerns about your child's health please don't hesitate to contact me,

Let's hope the Spring weather is just around the corner! We have fresh herbs growing in the kitchen, and the green plants are a nice reminder of warmer temperatures, flowers and gardens! Our herbs are almost ready to harvest, and pretty soon the students will get to enjoy dishes made with fresh basil, cilantro, thyme, parsley and dill.
We are very excited about a new item on our menu. We recently introduced "Lunch Boxes", and so far, they have been a big hit! It contains a perfect balance of all the components in a healthy lunch. We just launched the "Nacho Lunchbox", with salsa, cheese, grapes, carrots and whole grain tortilla chips. Soon we will introduce choices like, the "Ham and Cheese Lunchbox" with ham, cheddar cheese, pineapple and pretzels. Also, the "Sandwich Stacker Lunchbox" with cheddar cheese, pepperoni, whole grain flat bread and celery and apple slices. Another offering is the "Cape Codder Lunchbox" with turkey, cheddar cheese, dried cranberries and toasted whole grain flatbread. The "Pizza Stacker Lunchbox" contains pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, pepperoni, baby carrots and whole grain flatbread squares. We will also offer hummus, sunbutter, grapes, celery, cucumbers, melon, oranges, apples and a variety of other fruits and vegetables. As you can see, the choices are endless, and we are so excited to have them on the menu!
Have you downloaded the Nutrislice App yet? It's available in the app store, and it has all the information you need about surveys, nutrition information, and menus for all the schools in the district.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact JoAnne at Memorial (603)382-3326, or Kimberly Adkins, Food Service Director at (603)642-3341 x132.

1st Grade News

We have had an EGG-citing month in Grade 1! Our science standards have us explore inherited traits, lifecycles and patterns. Classes had the opportunity to use their science skills of observation and find evidence to make predictions. Each classroom cared for an incubator full of chicken eggs. 1G even had duck eggs. Students learned facts about chickens, their lifecycle, and animal traits. The classes participated in candling (shining a light through the shell) and turning the eggs. After 21 days, students we rewarded with the first peeps of spring.
Candling
Turning eggs 3 times a day.
They hatched!
