Memories! 6/15/16

HAPPY FATHERS DAY 2016!!
Anyway, for whatever reason, I awoke today (PTL) thinking TODAY was FATHER'S DAY!!??
Yesterday, the work began-MOVING DAY!!
Construction has begun on the MOTHER-IN-LAW suite a day that will long live in infamy.
Not infamy because my ma-in-law OFFICIALLY moves in, but because I hate mess and clutter AND construction!
I was FORCED to go through the many piles, boxes and drawers and make decisions as to what to keep and what to discard.
In truth, the decision was very easy-DISCARD, DISCARD, DISCARD.
Gone was the original copies of my first sermon, copies of MANY written PRAYERS that were miraculously ANSWERED, videos, cassette tapes (remember them?), recorded sermons, even one reel of reel-to-reel tape.
How well do I remember performing many Christmas and Easter cantatas using a reel-to-reel tape player.
Can you say "MEMORIES-LIKE THE CORNERS OF MY MIND!"
I was surprised at how easy it actually was!
Them days are gone!!!

Beloved, NO ONE can steer a car looking in the rear view mirror!!!
We NOW live in an electronic world.
Rarely do I need a postage stamp or pen and paper.
We no longer need to purchase a cumbersome set of Encyclopedias, purchased from a door to door salesman.
And yes, my parents did indeed buy such a set and every year we received a new years edition.
MEMORIES-LIKE THE CORNERS OF MY MIND!!
I discarded ALL the paper files on the death of little Connor/age 5 ½ months, ALL the paper MEMORIES of report cars and birthday cards from my deceased daughter Wendy and grandson Devin.
OUT WITH THE OLD-IN WITH THE NEW!!!

Life was never intended by our God to be static/stationary!
What "worked" yesterday fails today!
Everything was divinely designed to move-our bodies, our money, our minds.
Water grows stagnant if denied to flow.
Life requires "pushing the envelope!"
One MUST "PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE!!"
In my vocal lessons, my learned teacher demands "I challenge myself" to reach previously UN-obtained notes!!
I may be truning 65 this month, (Lord willing), BUT I am NOT retiring-I AM REFIRING!!!
