planting tree two
PortFest was kicked off with tree planting ceremony.
The tree planting was planned by City Trees, a non-profit volunteer organization that enhances the community with tree plantings citywide.  Sims Metal Management donated the money so that mature trees that can withstand the marine environment and soil conditions could be planted at the public access area of the Port. Port Commission Chairman Simms Duncan is on the Redwood City Trees board.
