From the Principal - Mr. Florence

First trimester assessments will soon be completed. Teachers and students are developing positive relationships to build strong foundations of a successful learning community. I continue sharing with parents each year the importance of nightly reading and math fact fluency. The critical components in creating a lifelong appreciation and longing of the educational process are building student-teacher relationships and parent-guardian involvement. Together we can help our students create a vision of their best selves.

The 2016 Ohio School Report Cards were posted on the Ohio Department of Education website (https://education.ohio.gov/) on September 15. Single data points do not define the quality of our District, school, students or teachers. A snapshot taken months ago cannot accurately reflect a Shaker education. Our philosophy as an IB World School values a holistic education for our students by developing critical, analytical thinking skills. This will be the ODE's focus going forward.

Please join us for our September 21st PTO meeting at 7:00 p.m. I hope you can join us for what will certainly be an informative evening.
