For Peace Sake
 

As we watch the violence in the Middle East unfold, as well as other recent atrocities, it makes us wonder if voices of peace, understanding, and interconnectedness are stronger than the misfired angry noise of intolerance that envelops these embattled places. Although the seemingly unending waves of violence can be so disheartening and overwhelming, it is vital that we continue to speak up with a strong message of solidarity in peace across cultural differences. There is an opportunity to share that message and honor the tragic loss of life in the current conflict by attending the Interfaith Memorial and Prayers for Peace and Healing at Manhattanville College this coming Wed Jul 30 at 7:00pm.

David Finch: The Bikkhu's Newspaper. Having lived in Buddhist and Muslim countries (in addition to our "Christian" one) and traveled to another thirty, David will share some of his cultural and spiritual experiences and insights.  David has served on the board of the UU UN Office and currently serves on the UUA's International Funding Panel.

From the steps to the roof, there are many improvements to our buildings and grounds happening this summer as well. Until further notice, please enter church on the right side of the parking lot. The left entrance steps by the sanctuary are under repair.

Meredith returns to regular office hours and work on Tue Aug 5 -- and returns to the pulpit on Sun Aug 10.
