PBS TV SHOW CELEBRATION OF MUSIC SEEKS LOCAL TALENT
PBS is seeking young musical talent in the Chicago area for their new television show Celebration of Music in Chicago. Selected performers will be broadcast on PBS Chicago and featured on PBS's website. Based on an online vote, the winner will perform in Los Angeles on national television and have the chance to record their very own single!

MERIT STUDENT BENI CWIAKALA WILL COMPETE IN NEW SEASON OF MASTERCHEF JUNIOR
 Beni Cwiakala
, a student at Merit School of Music, will be a contestant on the new season of
MasterChef Junior
. 11-year-old Beni was chosen as one of 40 talented young home cooks to showcase their unique culinary skills and compete for the MasterChef Junior trophy, as well as a $100,000 grand prize.
In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Beni stated that if she were to win, she would donate some of her prize money to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and save some for her dream food truck - a food truck that would be used to teach disadvantaged youth how to cook nutritious food with local ingredients.
