Pastor's Message

Dear Friends in Faith,

Joy to the world, the Lord is come! We welcome the savior of the world whose birth changes everything on Christmas. The arrival of the messiah brings a new reality to our faith, our relationships with God and with each other. God’s immense love is given to us in Emmanuel, the sign that God is with us always in Jesus Christ.

One of the things I treasure about the Christmas story is how everyone is invited to stop and rejoice over what God has done. In our busy days and moments, what better response to God could there be than to simply stop to receive...

The Perfect Prayer
As a new year begins, we invite you to look at an old prayer in a new way. New Year's Day, we begin a new worship series called "The Perfect Prayer," based on The Lord's Prayer. The five-week series seeks to help us learn to pray and build a deeper prayer life using the prayer Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6:5-13.

Meet the Magi (3 Kings) January 8
The Magi, Three Kings or Wise Men are traveling to see Jesus, led by the star in the East. Come to PVUMC on Sunday, January 8, 2017 to hear their tale of wonder and joy when they meet Jesus, the newborn king. They'll have gifts for all the children at 9:30 am Sunday School.

Deliver Hope this Christmas
As we talk about speaking hope, we are also sending hope into the world through our Christmas Missions Offering. Use the GIVE NOW orange button on the website to donate to UMOM, the Wesley Community Center and the PVUMC Emergency Relief Fund, or use the envelope in the pew pocket.

God's story of Jesus, whose birth we celebrate on Christmas Day, is a story of poor parents, who needed a place to stay, and who only attracted the notice of a group of poor shepherds working the night shift. Yet, when Jesus grew up, he changed the world. How's that for hope?
