May your days be merry and bright.
Greetings Stephanie,
As we near the end of 2015, we want you to know how much we appreciate you. Bend Area Habitat is better because of you. We built and sold 4 homes to families this year and will build 7 more in 2016. We wish you all the best now and much joy and peace in the New Year. Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends.
Thank you for bringing hope and a future to so many in need of affordable housing in our community.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Construction Update:
Although the snow has made things more challenging, volunteers are moving forward on the Rogers home, sheething is being applied to the walls and roof! It really makes the project take shape!

We've also successfully excavated our next lot for the Mitma family. Once the snow clears a little more, we'll begin setting forms to pour the footings!
Volunteer Update:

Meet the Nierman Family
You may have seen their pictures on our  posters about #GivingTuesday. Some have asked if this is a real family or just a great picture we found.

We're happy to say they are very real and one of our newest partner families.

Libby is a single mom to Elliott, 5, and Leota “Leo”, 3. She is originally from Indianapolis, IN and has lived in Bend since 2006. Libby applied to Bend Area Habitat in 2014 but was denied at that time. The denial prompted her to seek local resources to improve her personal finances. She attended classes through NeighborImpact and participated in their IDA Matched Savings Program to save for massage school and to open her own business.

They enjoy exploring nature at every opportunity they get. Elliott enjoys playing outside, watching movies, and reading books. Leo likes riding her bike and going to the park. The family has had to move several times in the past few years and Libby has long dreamed of owning her own home. She says, “We look forward to learning and engaging with our community throughout the process of buying our home – a dream that would not be possible without Habitat”. She also looks forward to less stress and worry about providing for her two kids.

May your days be filled with peace, hope,
and joy this holiday season.
As always, thank you for your partnership,
loyalty, and support.
Sincerely,
Bend Area Habitat for Humanity
