President's Message
Edward T.A. Fry, MD, FACC
Dear Colleague,

I hope that you will join us at the  Indiana-ACC 19th Annual Meeting on  Saturday, October 10, at the Westin Indianapolis. Our annual conference is the ideal setting for the entire cardiovascular team to join together, learn and network.

The program committee has crafted an agenda that reflects joint areas of interest. The topics are dynamic and focused on valuebased, patient-centered care. In addition, we have put together a “mini-summit” examining the business, regulatory, and legislative aspects of cardiovascular medicine.

We are honored to have  Dr. Patrick O'Gara kick off the meeting. Dr. O’Gara is a Senior Physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.  He recently competed his term as President of the American College of Cardiology in March 2015 and previously served the American Heart Association as Chair of the Council on Clinical Cardiology in 2003-2005.
Edward T.A. Fry, MD, FACC
Whether you are a general cardiologist, electrophysiologist, interventionalist, administrator, nurse or fellow, we look forward to welcoming you to Indianapolis on October 10, for the Indiana-ACC Annual Meeting.

ACC Legislative Conference
Please plan to attend the  ACC's Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, at the Fairmont Hotel on October 18-20. You will get a first-hand look at advocacy issues facing us and our patients. In addition to excellent  educational sessions, we will meet with our legislators to discuss these issues. I think that you will agree that it is very powerful for us to carry our message to Capitol Hill together.

Feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Edward T.A. Fry, MD, FACC
President, Indiana Chapter of the ACC

Professional Life Survey

The ACC is in the process of conducting its Professional Life Study which has been conducted every 10 years, last done in 2005.  The results from the study will be used to learn how career decisions of men and women in cardiology influence their professional and personal lives. These results will be compared with results from previous studies.

The survey should take about 10-12 mintues to complete. This is not a census study, therefore only a sampling of members have been contacted to participate in the study.

If you receive an email from Dr. Kim Williams to complete the survey, please do so.  As a small token of our appreciation, you will have a chance to win one of four $250 Apple gift cards.
