Greetings:
What a happy time of year this is for kids as they come to the close of another school year and get ready for summer break! So here's a little reminder to start making your summer plans for them now.
As an emergency shelter, we work with children facing unimaginable situations-gang affiliated, sex trafficked, runaways, and/or abandoned by their parents. The overwhelming thing they long for is love. PLEASE, spend time with your kids. Hug them. Tell them you love them. Don't take them for granted. If you can't afford to take a vacation, that's fine. Your kids will be ecstatic if you just spend time with them. Let's do more than just coexist. Let's really enjoy life with our kids this summer!!
God Bless,
Dorcas

Nike Homestead
Sponsors Shopping Spree
This month, two of our Miami Bridge youth were treated to a shopping spree at Nike Homestead! These kids demonstrated exemplary behavior over consecutive weeks and were rewarded with some very cool Nike gear! The kids' faces lit up with excitement as they tried on new running shoes, active wear and got to explore all around the store. The shopping spree meant a lot to them. Miami Bridge is very grateful for Nike Homestead's generosity and is proud of both youth for demonstrating outstanding conduct.
Pollo Tropical Sponsors
Feel Good Friday
Feel Good Friday is our way of celebrating each other and our achievements for the week.
Pollo Tropical has been very kind to host Feel Good Friday today and for another two weeks at both shelter locations! Thanks to them we can enjoy our time together with some delicious food!

Jimmy Brown Honored as
Youth Care Worker of the Year!
It was a pleasure attending the 2017 Florida Network of Youth and Family Services Annual Awards Luncheon! Once again, we couldn't be more proud of our very own, Jimmy Brown, who was honored as Youth Care Worker of the Year!
As part of the Miami Bridge family,
Jimmy's passion and dedication to the agency and the youth he serves has no end.
With his care and compassion, along with perseverance to bettering the life of the kids who walk through our doors, it is no surprise that he was honored for going above and beyond by the Florida Network.
Jimmy is a true team member, provides appropriate feedback to his peers and embraces a positive respectful approach with youth and staff alike. This is one of the reasons why he was recently selected to become a certified trainer in the Youth Care Professional Certification Program. As both staff and youth agree, Jimmy is our rock!
2017 Mercedes-Benz

Our team enjoyed running and walking the event, showcasing what it means to live a fit, healthy lifestyle alongside people from all walks of corporate life.

Miami Bridge
Many thanks to local artist, Marcy Grosso, for hosting a Silent Auction benefiting Miami Bridge! Thanks to her and her talented students, we raised $1,225 at the event. The artists who exhibited ranged in age from 4 to 70, and were kind enough to auction off their art! With almost 100 people in attendance, we were able to share information and raise awareness about Miami Bridge!

Many of our children arrive with little to no personal belongings. We can always use NEW pajamas and undergarments. New sneakers are always helpful too. Your donations are very much appreciated!
