- It's been 25 years since we commissioned British motorsport and aviation artist Michael Turner to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Jim Clark's total dominance of open wheel racing in 1965 with paintings depicting Clark's Indianapolis 500 victory and his World Championship clinching performance in the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.
Limited Edition (850) prints of these paintings were released that year, co-published by Turner's Studio 88 and The Motorsport Collector. 'Jim Clark: Indianapolis Champion' and 'Jim Clark: Perfect Score' were offered either as a set or individually.
'Jim Clark: Indianapolis Champion' has been sold out for years but a handful of unframed copies of 'Jim Clark: Perfect Score' are available at TMC for $175.00 (order
HERE).
Recognized as two of Turner's finest works, both paintings were featured in Graham Gauld's 1997 book 'Jim Clark: Tribute to a Champion' and several enthusiast magazines in the US and Europe. 'Perfect Score' is also prominently featured in Turner's book 'The Motorsport Art of Michael Turner'.
An identically framed pair of these classic prints was recently acquired from an estate collection and are available for $595.00 plus shipping.
'Jim Clark: Indianapolis Champion' 415/850 and 'Jim Clark: Perfect Score' 455/850, have been double matted (light blue over black) with a light colored wood moulding and are in excellent condition.
Each measures approximately 26" x 21.5".

David KImble's Cutaways
Techniques & Stories Behind the Art
In David Kimble's 'Cutaways: The Techniques and the Stories Behind the Art', Kimble reveals the secrets, techniques, procedures, and the dedication to craft that is required to produce these amazing illustrations. He covers the step-by-step procedures while producing fresh artwork for this book featuring a McLaren Can-Am car as well as a vintage Harley-Davidson. Although the procedures covered here are unique to Kimble, and pretty much a pipe dream to mere mortals, this title provides an inside look into how he does it. Also included are the stories and tales of how it all started, traveling the world to illustrate cars, behind the scenes with manufacturers, the Corvette years, as well as a gallery of many illustrations. Never before has David Kimble provided a look into his cutaway "skunkworks," or shared the procedures for bringing these beautiful technical illustrations to life. This book is a must-have for any automotive or art fan.
