Meeting Recap
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our meeting this past Thursday!  It was a little loud, but we accomplished a lot and have some great plans for 2012!  Here's a few of highlights:

Hope Lodge Dinner
We decided to have our first Hope Lodge dinner on Thursday, January 12th.  We will need ten volunteers throughout the night to make this a success as we will need to prepare a full meal and organize an after-dinner activity for 40-60 people!  We will also need to shop earlier in the week and prepare our activity, so look in future updates for more information.

Riverbend Environmental Education Center Volunteer Day
We have chosen the morning of Sunday, January 29th as the day of our volunteer opportunity at Riverbend Environmental Education Center.  We will need a minimum of 10 volunteers and a maximum of 20, so keep your calendar open!  We will also use this as an opportunity to recruit new members.

Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser for the Eliminate Project
We will be hosting a fundraiser at the Trooper Applebee's through their Flapjack Fundraiser program.  We will sell tickets for all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage, and then on the day of the event we will help host, serve, clean up, and more.  We have chosen Sunday, February 12th (it'll be 8 AM - 10 AM), so keep this in mind and look for more info at future meetings.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt for Cradles to Crayons
We have approval from Cradles to Crayons for this fundraiser!  For those of you who would like to see how a typical adult Easter egg hunt operates, check out this link.  We are looking at Saturday, March 31st for this event, and we will need to start planning ASAP!  We will have our first committee meeting for this in early January, and we could use all the help we can get.
Holiday Party
We will be having our First Annual Holiday Party at Chap's Taproom and Sports Grill in Jeffersonville on Thursday, December 15th at 7 PM.  If we spend the required $200 as a group, we will be able to give a donation to Cradles to Crayons, so come hungry and bring cash!

We will have the entire back room to ourselves, so feel free to invite family, friends, significant others, prospective members - whoever you wish!  We need to give Chap's a head count by Monday, December 12th, so please let us know how many people we should expect before then.
Membership Recruitment
We have some new, exciting ideas to continue to recruit members for our new club!  Here's the plan and how you can help!

Interest Meeting

We are planning to have another interest meeting in lieu of our regular meeting on Thursday, February 2nd.  We are considering have it at Phil's Tavern at our normal time, but we will confirm this with the club as soon as we can.  We will be inviting all prospective members to learn more about Kiwanis one-on-one with all the club builders instead of having a formal presentation.

Posters
We will be flyering the mid-Montgomery County area with a general poster during the month of December to generate some interest for our club.  Here is a sample poster, but feel free to make your own!  In January, we will put up new flyers about our interest meeting.  If you can help put up posters, please let us know - we can provide them for you or you can always feel free to print them yourself.  Tell us where you post them so we don't waste any effort!

Letters
We will be sending another round of letters about Kiwanis to local businesses and organizations to invite them to join us at our interest meeting.  We will be getting prospect lists from the local Chambers of Commerce and Kiwanis International, but if you would like us to send a letter to any one person/business in particular, please let us know!

If you have any other ideas for recruitment, please let us know so we can start working on them!
