For the  parents and families of St. Therese Chinese Catholic School

Dear Parents,

While we are still reviewing the final numbers for our Chinese New Year Benefit, I can proudly announce that we reached our Fund the Need goal! Because we met our goal, mark your calendars - May 11th will be a day off school so that your family can enjoy a nice long Mothers' Day weekend!

Now that we have secured funds, I was able to sign the contract for our child-friendly play surface for our courtyard. Weather permitting, it should be installed over our spring break! Once again, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all the amazing volunteers, families, faculty and students for another memorable evening. It was truly magical. I still smile when I review the pictures! Please take a look at the photo gallery HERE.

And thanks to the dedicated fundraising, led by our fearless School and Family Association and our generous alumni/friends, we have also secured the final funds to finish the next phase in our security system to bring the entry point of our school to the gate. As a reminder, all families and guests of St. Therese must check in the office outside of normal drop-off and pick-up times. We continue to reflect upon our school security practices, and I want to thank families for their continued conversations on this very important matter.

With the guidance of Mr. Filipiak and Mr. Howard, our 7th and 8th graders are getting ready to portray the Living Stations of the Cross for our St. Therese community on Palm Sunday (March 25th) at 12:30 pm and Holy Thursday (March 29th) at 1:00 pm. If you have seen it before, you know what a moving and beautiful portrayal this is and for those of you who have not yet seen, I encourage you to join us for this very special tradition.

Blessings,
Ms. Cavallone
Principal

PS - Our Renew My Church meeting is this Sunday, March 18th at 11:45am in the St. Therese Parish Center. We hope you can join us - all are welcome!

Students and Staff Pray for Peace

In solidarity with a movement taking place across the nation and in response to the collective call from our Cardinal and School Superintendent to actively pray for peace,
St. Therese School will be participating in school-wide peace-building activities on Wednesday, March 14
th  at 10am.

Students in grades 3 through 8 observed 17 minutes of prayer, including reciting the rosary and silent reflection, for all those touched by gun violence and for the recent victims of the Parkland shooting. Students also made posters and other artwork to help promote peace. Photos of the older students' observations can be found on our School Photo Gallery .
