Dear friends,

Another Super Tuesday in GOP Presidential Primary land. Will we have a nominee any time soon?  Will we see a brokered convention? I watched the last two episodes of West Wing Season Six for an entertaining view of what a brokered convention might look like.

Some say the GOP has no "real" leadership...that the Party is a mess with all this "mud-slinging". Yeah, okay, it might look that way if you are out of touch with what is at stake.

I choose to be a blissful optimist. I believe that this election is what our Republic should look like. Citizens stepping forward to represent others and having to fight for that privilege. I like the "idea" of more vetting rather than less. I just want President Obama vetted in like manner. How about you?

NY GOP Convention is this Friday, March 16th in Rochester. Former Governor George Pataki will be the keynote speaker. Stay tuned for the nomination of either Wendy Long or George Maragos for Senate run against Kirsten Gillibrand.

Passing it on...

Ever wonder what the average person thinks about controversial issues such as abortion? We'll, this 33 minute video explores the WWII Holocaust of the Jews and the American Holocaust against the pre-born. At about minute 27 the dialog changes to evangelism. My intention for sharing this video is not to push theology. I have often wondered how to approach the discussion of sanctity of life with others, especially the youth. This film is masterful and insightful and well worth taking the time to watch.

Call your Senator

American Majority is putting out an action alert and asking all our members and friends to call their Senators. The United States Senate switchboard is (202) 224-3121. We are asking all Senators to vote "No" on the Menendez/Burr Amendment (Amendment #1782, also known as the Pickens' Plan and the NAT GAS Act) that has been inserted into the Senate Highway Bill. The vote is today. Americans are tired of crony capitalism, and it is not Washington, D.C.'s place to pick winners and losers in the market. Amendment #1782 does just that by creating taxpayer subsidies for the production and use of natural gas.  Call your Senator today!
