PUBLISHING CENTER WORKING SESSIONS - FEB 13 AND FEB 17PubCntr
Volunteers Needed for Publishing Center

This has been sent to all those on the Publishing Center list but we are reaching out to everyone in the Middle Gate family as we need help from here on out in the Publishing Center, otherwise our little ones will not get books published. We do not want to see this happen.
Well it is time to kick up the Publishing Center working sessions again. Hang on tight, here we go! This is the time where finish some small things and then really start to build the books for the kids. From now until June, this is where we really need your help to make this happen. We cannot do it without your help.
We will be meeting Monday February 13th 11:30-2pm and Friday February 17th 11:30-2:30. Come for as little or as much as you can. During these two sessions, we will be working on putting together the "inside packets" for the books. This is something that can also be done at home, once you have learned the process. To sign up for one or both working sessions, see the links below.
Monday February 13th - http://signup.com/go/v2Q363
Friday February 17th - http://signup.com/go/7NmDku
*** many more working sessions will be scheduled as class story deadlines approach.***

COMMUNITY FORUM - RECORDED SESSIONForum
Roles and Responsibilities: Students and Staff in a School Setting

For those that are interested in the forum about Bullying that took place Jan 23, Dr. Erardi said the video should be up on their page in 1-3 days as it was recorded. After a brief introduction from Dr. Erardi, they had the principals from NMS and NHS speak about the programs/processes they have in place to help students with bullying/harrassment issues. They talked about positive programs they have to bring students together. The Assistant HS Principal spoke on this topic as well. Then the audience was divided into three groups. There was at least one BOE member in each of the groups taking down information for further action. They had elementary school, 5-8 and high school groups. The top 3 or 4 suggestions in each group was presented by the BOE member from that group. These ideas/issues that need to be handled differently/suggestions will then be typed up and sent to each of the schools by Dr. Erardi. If you get a chance to watch it, it is interesting to see what the feedback was.

Also, just to let everyone know this information (they had cards available at the meeting for people to take):
Newtown - School Safety Card
o To report safety and/or bullying concerns that are occurring at school, on the bus, or on a social media site
o It's important that your voice be heard
o Load this number into your phone for easy access

The other side says:
Newtown's Safe Schools Tipline

o If you are not comfortable talking face-to-face, use this number for anonymous reporting (no caller ID)
o 24-hour response
