Open Air Burn By-Law: Quick Guide
Middlesex Centre reminds residents that there is no open burning during designated poor air quality days. Please monitor these advisories before starting any open burns. To check current advisories from Environment Canada:
BUILDING & BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT
Watch your Grass and Weeds

With the arrival of warm weather, lawns are now growing quickly. Middlesex Centre’s Property Standards – Clearing of Land By-law requires grass to be cut regularly and kept at a height of not more than 150 mm (six inches). Please have regard for the appearance of your property and maintain your lawn within these limits. Your neighbours thank you. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact our By-law Enforcement Department.
Septic Maintenance

Since summer is nearly here, it is a good time to have your septic tank pumped out by a licensed contractor. It is recommended that septic tanks be pumped every three to five years to keep the solids from accumulating and plugging up the disposal field. While pumping the tank, the baffles should be inspected to ensure that they are in good condition.  If you have any questions regarding your septic system, please contact our building department.
