Police Kiosk

The Police Department is proud to announce one of its newest features: a kiosk that will streamline services for residents.

Located on the second floor of the Municipal Center outside of the Police Department, the kiosk allows residents to file reports, make right-to-know requests, join the "Do Not Solicit" list, and request a vacation property check of their homes. Residents using this system will receive an email confirmation of their requests.

Police and Township staff created and programmed the kiosk to provide efficient, cost-effective service to residents. Its design is user-friendly and will greatly reduce paperwork for both residents and staff. The Police Department is excited to expand the opportunities for residents to request the services they need.

Breakfast with the Board

Middletown's 2017 Breakfast with the Board series kicked off to a successful start on February 7th. Residents gathered at the Middletown Country Club to join members of the Board of Supervisors and the Township staff for refreshments and the chance to discuss the Middletown community. All attendees welcomed the opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, or simply get to know the elected officials who serve the Township.

"We are very excited to bring back Breakfast with the Board," said Board Chairman Tom Gallagher. "I hope residents join us for the upcoming events to continue talking with me and my fellow Board members about our community."

Breakfast with the Board will continue quarterly throughout 2017, with the next event scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on May 2nd at Garden of Eatin. We hope to see you there!

Opioid Roundtable

On February 13th, Middletown Township hosted the Overdose Prevention Community Awareness Forum. Sponsored by the Bucks County Association of Township Officials, the event brought together advocates, elected officials, law enforcement, and medical professionals to discuss the opioid epidemic in the community. Participants discussed a range of topics which included updates to Pennsylvania law, the use of Narcan to save those suffering an overdose, services available through the County, and prevention efforts.

Anyone interested in learning more and seeing the forum for themselves are encouraged to view it on the Township website or cable channel.

Preparing for the Parade

The planning committee is already hard at work preparing the sixth annual 4th of July Parade. The theme for 2017 will be recognizing first responders. It's never too soon to think about marching in the parade or even creating a float! Those wishing to march or enter a float must register ahead of time. Any individual, organization, or business is welcome! The committee is also seeking sponsors for the event.

To sign up or seek further information, please email [email protected]We look forward to seeing you at another great parade!

Neshaminy Coalition for Youth

Members from all corners of the community have joined to create the Neshaminy Coalition for Youth (NCY), an organization which brings together youth, parents, schools, community agencies, and local governments to promote the health and well-being of young people.  The organization aims to empower youth to avoid negative behaviors such as substance abuse.

NCY is currently developing an action plan based on survey data measuring student behaviors and attitudes toward a variety of both positive and negative behaviors. The survey also measures their attitudes about school, community, peers, and families.  The action plan will identify specific areas of concern for the Neshaminy community and will outline evidence-based programs to address the risks faced by local children.

NCY believes that a coordinated approach that brings all of the stakeholders together will lead to a decrease in the risks facing our children and will increase the factors in the community that support and encourage healthy growth and development. NCY believes that a community that supports children is a community that is better for all the residents and businesses.

Anyone interested in more information about this coalition may reach out to Debby Lamanna, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services for the Township, or Anthony Devlin, Director of Pupil Services for the Neshaminy School District.
