REMINDERS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Supervision at Community Events
Dear KWS Parents,

I am writing to ask your help with supervision of children at community events such as festivals, community dinners, sporting events, plays, etc.

It is wonderful having all of our families attend our community events. We want everyone to feel welcome, and we especially want the children who are here for those events to be safe. Because of this, it is very important that parents supervise their children during community events. While there may be different points of view amongst parents about what supervision means, at school events it means that an adult is present with children at all times. For example, if a community event is located in the gym and a group of children want to play outside, at least one adult supervisor must be with them. A good rule of thumb to follow is: at all school community events my child is with me under my supervision, or I have arranged for my child to be under the supervision of another adult.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping to make sure that children are supervised and safe on campus at all times.

Sincerely,

Kevin Hughes
Dean of School

Seven Stars Shop
Thank you to all who came out and supported the Seven Stars Shop during the Craft Fair! It was a very successful weekend for us in our new location in the Parent Hub. In case you still have some holiday shopping to do, we will be open during the All-Community Dinner tomorrow (Thursday) evening, on Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and also during the Community Advent Assembly and Tea on Monday morning. Come and see our new merchandise that just arrived for the holidays!

Dinner and Discussion with Judy Wicks
Please click here to register for the All-Community Dinner tomorrow evening, Thursday, December 12 at 5:30 pm. Enjoy a night of dinner and discussion with noted activist, author, and entrepreneur, Judy Wicks! Judy will speak to the group and sign copies of her new book, Good Morning, Beautiful Business. Registration will also be available at the door, but it would be helpful for our Food for Thought program to know how many people to expect.

Referral Program
You, our parents, are our best advertisers and advocates. To show our appreciation for recommending our school to your friends and family, we have a wonderful referral program. This is our way of thanking you for spreading the word about Kimberton Waldorf School and welcoming new families into our program. How it works: Talk to people about Kimberton Waldorf School. If you refer a brand new (to KWS) family and they enroll a student, you will earn a $500 credit toward your tuition. In order for you to receive the credit, you must tell Lael Rasch the name of the family you have referred within one week of their first contact with the school.

Waldorf Weekend
Have you ever had a difficult time explaining to someone clearly yet briefly what Waldorf is and why you have chosen it for your family? Are you interested in learning about the foundations of Waldorf Education and how it has developed into the style of education we are so pleased to be offering our children?

Sunbridge Institute is bringing their "Waldorf Weekend" workshop on the road, and we are excited to report that the workshop will be presented right here on our campus on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18.

Please register early as there are only 25 spots available. Click here to register now. After the first 10 registrants, the workshop fee will be just $50 per person. Please only sign up if you can commit to attending the entire workshop (Friday night and all day Saturday).

Here's what one workshop attendee had to say: "This was one of the single most wonderful weekends in my life. I came with the intention of learning more about Waldorf Education. I am leaving with a feeling of a shifting of my soul."
OUR MISSION

Kimberton Waldorf School is dedicated to nurturing the developing child in accordance with the educational principles of Rudolf Steiner. The school supports the unfolding individuality of each child by awakening the child's capacity to meet the world, others, and the self with warmth of heart, clarity of thought, and strength of purpose. It is also our mission to build a diverse community where the spiritual in each human being is recognized and to create social forms that ennoble human striving.
