REMINDERS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

All-School Open House
The Faculty and Staff would like to warmly invite all of you to attend our upcoming All-School Open House on Sunday January 26, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Gymnasium.

For the first time in a long while, we will also be offering mini Main Lesson sessions in the Lower School, Middle School and High School. In addition to these experiential sessions, you can enjoy individual program area tours (Early Childhood and Kindergarten, Lower School, Middle School and High School), meet and share your questions with our faculty, interact with students, parents and alumni, view samples of student work, and participate in a student and alumni panel discussion.

Perhaps you have a Lower School child and would like to learn more about the Middle School, or perhaps you have a Middle School student and would like to gain some further insights into our High School. Perhaps you have not yet had the opportunity to hear one of Kevin Hughes' inspirational presentations on Waldorf Education, or perhaps you are a Rosebud family and have not yet met our Kindergarten faculty or seen our beautiful Kindergarten. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about what lies ahead and be re-inspired by all that Kimberton Waldorf School has to offer.

Help spread the word about this event and bring a friend, neighbor, or family member. Enjoy delicious refreshments provided by our very own Food For Thought Program. We do also provide childcare in our Kindergarten for children 2 to 7 years of age. Please RSVP in advance to sign up. For more information or to RSVP, contact Admissions Director Lael Rasch at 610-933-3635 x 108 or by email at admissions@kimberton.org.

We are also still looking for volunteers to help with setup, cleanup, and refreshments so feel free to contact us with any offerings.

High School Musical
We are thrilled to announce that our high school musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, will take place on February 27, 28, and March 1, 2014. The excitement felt by the high school students about this upcoming musical is contagious! Please consider supporting the musical by placing an ad in the program. Anyone can take out an ad---business owners, family and friends with personal messages, student organizations, parent organizations, and sports teams. With an audience expected to exceed 1,000 people, it is a great way to advertise your company, promote your personal business, or send a personal message. Click here to access the ad reservation form.

Seven Stars Shop
Valentine's Day is right around the corner and the Seven Stars Shop has what you need for sweet little gifts for your child and supplies to make Valentine cards.  We have paper, glue, doilies, red, pink and white wool felt and yarn, heart wands and ornaments, little Valentine babies...and more!  We have also restocked our kite and star paper along with books on how to make them. Stay tuned to the Midweek Messenger for the new Seven Stars Shop hours coming soon.

2014 Spring Break Camp
Two one-week sessions are offered:
March 24-28, 2014
March 31-April 4, 2014

Kimberton Waldorf School offers a magical spring camp for grades K-4. Join us for fun-filled, active days that allow children to experience life on our farm, in our fields, and through our forests! Children will have the opportunity to help care for our animals, learn how to milk a cow, engage in woodland explorations, build forts, search for animals and their homes, and enjoy adventures in the trails and fields surrounding our school. Our beautiful 425-acre campus offers an environment where children can experience the wonders of nature and wholesome fun. The camp is led by dedicated and talented counselors, who are faculty, students, staff, and alumni of Kimberton Waldorf School. We provide a unique balance of hands-on, teacher-led activities and supervised free play.

Two one-week sessions are offered from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The cost is $265 per week. Extended morning care is available from 8:00 to 9:00 am for an additional $35 per week. Extended afternoon care is available from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for an additional $70 per week. Click here for more information or to register.

Call for Volunteers - Tempus
Kimberton Waldorf School and Triskeles invite you to become part of the 2nd Annual Tempus Conference, being held here at KWS March 14-15. We are seeking volunteers to help with setup, parking, event preparation, registration, food preparation and cleanup. If you're interested in learning more about the program or becoming a volunteer, contact Dina Jenney at djenney@kimberton.org.  Don't miss this opportunity! Read more about the conference here.

Donations Needed
The Athletic Department is seeking used bath-sized or beach towels. They are used to mop the floors in the Gymnasium. Towels can be brought to the Athletic Office in the Gymnasium. There will be a box there to leave them. Thank you!

Transportation Survey
Kimberton Waldorf School is considering the feasibility of offering private transportation for students who live far from the school. Please take our very brief but very important survey, which we will use to make our decision. Click here to take the survey.

OUR MISSION

Kimberton Waldorf School is dedicated to nurturing the developing child in accordance with the educational principles of Rudolf Steiner. The school supports the unfolding individuality of each child by awakening the child's capacity to meet the world, others, and the self with warmth of heart, clarity of thought, and strength of purpose. It is also our mission to build a diverse community where the spiritual in each human being is recognized and to create social forms that ennoble human striving.
