Winter Break begins this Friday, December 20 with an early dismissal
at noon. School resumes
on Monday, January 6, 2014. The Midweek Messenger will not be published during the break. Have a safe and happy holiday season!
Snowy Greetings from the Admissions Office. While we are busy keeping up with daily business, hosting an abundant array of admissions and outreach events and working diligently to meet our midyear enrollment goals, we are also actively planning and preparing for the 2014-15 School Year.
We would like to give you a brief update:
Re-enrollment contracts will be sent out in early February. Given that there are a number of classes that are either full or very close to it, we ask that you kindly return your contracts by the determined deadline (within one month) in order to secure your child's place in the class. We wish to give priority to our returning families, but do hope you understand that for financial and logistical planning purposes, we will need to adhere more consciously to our deadlines moving forward. We ask that you contact us immediately should you need a special arrangement for your child, or should you be considering potential withdrawal. We look forward to your continued journey with us moving forward and welcome you to reach out to us if we can be supportive in any way through the re-enrollment process.
Financial aid applications are due by January 15, 2014. Families can apply online at www.sss.nais.org.
Students and School Services (SSS) will then send a report to the Kimberton Waldorf School Financial Aid Committee
for review. The Committee will make awards taking this information into account along with other determining factors. Award letters will be sent to families along with their enrollment agreements in the first week of February. If you have any questions about financial aid and the process, please contact Allyn Weiser
in the Business Office.
We are excited to announce that our Rosebud and Kindergarten Programs are almost at capacity at this time. We encourage any families who have children not yet enrolled in the school who wish to apply for these classes to do so immediately as spaces are extremely limited and likely to fill up very quickly.
Word of mouth continues to be our number one marketing tool, so we encourage you to continue your supportive role in referring new families to the school. Don't forget about our exciting referral program, which was outlined in a recent Midweek Messenger posting. Here's how it works: should you refer a family and then inform the Admissions Office within one week of doing so, and then the family actually enrolls, you will receive a $500 tuition credit.
Another way to help us grow our beautiful school is to join our Host Family program by opening your doors to a High School exchange or visiting international student (typically for 3-12 months), to a multi-year international student (starts with a one-year commitment), or to a local weekly Boarding Student. All host families receive a monthly room and board stipend.
Please feel free to contact the Admissions Office with any further questions, or if we can be of assistance in any way.
