Happy Holidays
Winter Break begins this Friday, December 20 with an early dismissal at noon. School resumes on Monday, January 6, 2014.  The Midweek Messenger will not be published during the break.  Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Admissions Update
Snowy Greetings from the Admissions Office. While we are busy keeping up with daily business, hosting an abundant array of admissions and outreach events and working diligently to meet our midyear enrollment goals, we are also actively planning and preparing for the 2014-15 School Year.
We would like to give you a brief update:

Re-enrollment contracts will be sent out in early February. Given that there are a number of classes that are either full or very close to it, we ask that you kindly return your contracts by the determined deadline (within one month) in order to secure your child's place in the class.  We wish to give priority to our returning families, but do hope you understand that for financial and logistical planning purposes, we will need to adhere more consciously to our deadlines moving forward. We ask that you contact us immediately should you need a special arrangement for your child, or should you be considering potential withdrawal. We look forward to your continued journey with us moving forward and welcome you to reach out to us if we can be supportive in any way through the re-enrollment process.

Financial aid applications are due by January 15, 2014.  Families can apply online at Students and School Services (SSS) will then send a report to the Kimberton Waldorf School Financial Aid Committee for review. The Committee will make awards taking this information into account along with other determining factors.  Award letters will be sent to families along with their enrollment agreements in the first week of February.  If you have any questions about financial aid and the process, please contact Allyn Weiser in the Business Office.

We are excited to announce that our Rosebud and Kindergarten Programs are almost at capacity at this time. We encourage any families who have children not yet enrolled in the school who wish to apply for these classes to do so immediately as spaces are extremely limited and likely to fill up very quickly.

Word of mouth continues to be our number one marketing tool, so we encourage you to continue your supportive role in referring new families to the school. Don't forget about our exciting referral program, which was outlined in a recent Midweek Messenger posting. Here's how it works: should you refer a family and then inform the Admissions Office within one week of doing so, and then the family actually enrolls, you will receive a $500 tuition credit.

Another way to help us grow our beautiful school is to join our Host Family program by opening your doors to a High School exchange or visiting international student (typically for 3-12 months), to a multi-year international student (starts with a one-year commitment), or to a local weekly Boarding Student. All host families receive a monthly room and board stipend.

Please feel free to contact the Admissions Office with any further questions, or if we can be of assistance in any way.

Waldorf Weekend
Do you feel overwhelming gratitude for the loving environment that your Rosebud or Kindergarten child enjoys each day but wonder about what happens in the Lower School and High School here at KWS? Sunbridge Institute
is bringing their "Waldorf Weekend" workshop on the road, and we are excited to report that the workshop will be presented right here on our campus on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18.

Please register early as there are only 25 spots available. Click here to register now. After the first 10 registrants, the workshop fee will be just $50 per person. Please only sign up if you can commit to attending the entire workshop (Friday night and all day Saturday).

Here's what one workshop attendee had to say: "This was one of the single most wonderful weekends in my life. I came with the intention of learning more about Waldorf Education. I am leaving with a feeling of a shifting of my soul."

As 4th grade parents, we would like to thank everyone - parents, teachers, especially the students - for their beautiful hand-made and delicious home-made contributions to the Village Shop Table at the Craft Fair.  We were grateful to have plentiful crafts, and a great variety delivered to us.

Kimberton Waldorf School is dedicated to nurturing the developing child in accordance with the educational principles of Rudolf Steiner. The school supports the unfolding individuality of each child by awakening the child's capacity to meet the world, others, and the self with warmth of heart, clarity of thought, and strength of purpose. It is also our mission to build a diverse community where the spiritual in each human being is recognized and to create social forms that ennoble human striving.
