(NEW YORK) May 3, 2011 - Just days before the opening of one of this year's most anticipated films, JUMPING THE BROOM cast members Laz Alonso, Tasha Smith, Mike Epps and Pooch Hall hosted an intimate press dinner at New York's PRANNA Restaurant. As guests noshed on lettuce wraps and hanger steak, the talented actors addressed everything from typecasting - ("The characters I play may be strong women, but they aren't the same," said Smith) - to the brilliance of director Salim Akil. "In the next five years, Salim will be one of the top directors in Hollywood," praised Alonso. "Not just a top black director, but one of the best in the business...period!"
"This is a movie about choices. You choose how your life should go," said Hall, who revealed that he's married and had already 'jumped the broom.' "It's a film everyone can relate to."
