 For the Love of Opera

On Thursday, April 20th, the Opera NH will be performing at Mill Falls as part of their 2017 In School Tour. Their performance, entitled "For the Love of Opera", will offer a selection of some of the most famous opera pieces.

The program will feature Opera NH's  Three Divas: Ashley N. Therrien, Emily Adams, and Alison Messier, accompanied by pianist Jono Babbitt.  The program will feature an introduction, the 25-minute performance, and a 10-minute question and answer session.

About Opera NH:

Since 1974, Opera New Hampshire has offered children's programming aimed at providing cultural and educational opportunities to New Hampshire school-aged children, at no cost to them or their schools. The goals of the program are to:
  • Expose children to opera, an art form that is often under-emphasized in school curricula;
  • Demonstrate the interaction of vocal and instrumental music, storytelling, acting, dance, language arts, and other educational subjects within the context;
  • Provide children with an opportunity to see and hear live opera;
  • Encourage children to participate in operas.
For more information, visit www.OperaNH.org.

Montessori Moments...
This week our Kindergarten students explored color, learning about the primary colors and how color mixing works. Ms. Kristin used basic materials of food coloring, water and paper towels for this experiment. Take a look:

Testing and body-breaks. Repeat...
Even some of our younger friends got in on the body-break fun this week!

Some of our Kindergarten friends worked on the beloved Montessori work which employes a special tool to outline the continents and then assemble them into the shape of the world. Here are two very proud students with Ms. Kristin!

Below, to the left, is an example of an Upper Elementary student's "town",
which was created using a required list of angles and shapes.
To the right, are art projects completed this week.
