So Much to be Thankful For!
The week is short, but our list of things to be thankful for is very long!

From our hardworking students and their wonderfully supportive families, to our creative and talented teachers and staff, to our School & Foundation Boards, and our funders and partners....

We are so thankful for all that you do for us
and each other, every single day!

In particular, our School Community has shown its strength with the incredible outpouring of food donations for our MFCS Food Pantry. The wealth and variety of items you have shared has brought smiles to the faces of those who depend on the Pantry. This wealth of donations has helped us send home hearty packages of food which will help our families make it through this long holiday weekend. Many, many thanks...and hoping we can keep the donations coming throughout the year.

This afternoon, MFCS students in each of our program levels took time to give thanks, share a meal or a snack. Much of the joy of the day was made possible through generous participation by MFCS Parents from donations for the Kinder and Upper Elementary Meals to servers at our Upper Elementary Feast, we say, thank you, thank you thank, you! Please enjoy some moments from those events below.

Today, we'd also like to take a moment to thank a few people who have provided significant financial donations to our programming over the last several months. Please join us in thanking Peter & Kareen Worrell
and Theresa & Chris Dolloff. Both of these couples have have committed to multi-year support of Mill Falls because they are so moved by the work we do and the students we serve. Please also help us thank Quentin Keefe who has recently stepped down from his service on the MFCS Foundation Board, most recently serving as its Chair. Quentin and his wife Maryjane have provided Mill Falls with financial support since the very start.  We are so very fortunate to have members of the greater NH community to believe in our work and in our mission and make sure to include us on their list of giving.

To all in our MFCS Family we say...
Happy Thanksgiving!

Annual Coat Drive

Our Annual
Fall Coat Drive Has Begun
!

Starting this week we have been collecting gently used or new hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and winter coats. We will be donating collected clothing to Families in Transition which recently merged with New Horizons. Together they work with individuals and families in need of food, clothes, home goods and housing. Thank you in advance for sharing what you can with those in need.

MFCS Food Pantry:
We Are Now Accepting
Food Donations!

This week you guys have WOWed us! Susanne's office filled with fresh fruits and veggies, assorted treats and important basics. Your response has been wonderful, and we thank the many families who have already responded to our call for food donations in support of our MFCS Food Pantry.

Your donations are helping to make it possible for to to send food home multiple times each week with children whose families are in need. And this week, we have been able to send many extra items home with the children and for that we are deeply thankful! Although we partner with the NH Food Bank to stock our Pantry, shopping for food items is not without cost.

We will be accepting food for our pantry throughout the year, and thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness!

Give & Get!

Over the last several years, Mill Falls has offered families a fun and easy way to 'Give & Get' through the SCRIP Fundraising Program.

The Give:  Purchase gift cards for your family and/or friends, or purchase them for yourself at places where you regularly shop!

The Get:  With every gift card purchased, a portion of the sale is donated to Mill Falls!

The list of vendors is long and for every purchase,
a portion goes to support our school!

What is Thanks-Scriping-Day? For an early Black Friday Sale, over the next 24 hours, you can register  online with ShopWithScrip and purchase gift cards through their website  where Mill Falls will receive a portion of the profit!

Please  click here to  learn more about Thank-Scrip-ing Day, and  click here  for details about  the Scrip Program and which companies are participating.

Happy Thank-Scrip-ing Day!

Congrats Team Rapids!
Our First Lego League Team (FLL), Team Rapids, succeeded in the qualifying tournament this past weekend and will now move on to the next level of competition - the State-wide event in early December! We are thrilled for them, and want to recognize their hard work AND the hard work of the parents-organizers.

The Team - Charlie, Yoni, Skyler & Eric - has been led by the indefatigable MFCS Parent, Celestia Lensky, with incredible assistance and incredibly generous support of time and resources from fellow MFCS Parents, Katie Cote & Albert Drouart  and to MFCS Grandmother,  Signe McQuaid.  The FLL undertaking requires an enormous time commitment and so each of the participating families have helped to support the Team in so many ways, all of which led to their success this weekend! We also want to thank Mike at Makerspace  in Manchester where the Team met during the summer, and Dani Lensky of Eze Software in Boston for the donation of laptops to the Team.

Turns out, we have some other friends, on other FLL teams who also had competition success this weekend. Shout out to Addie who is working with a team from her new school, Beech Hill, as well as Aarushi  and her brother Aarav who are working with a team from the Academy of Science and Design. And thanks to Salina who was cheering on her brother, Antonio, who was competing with his school - Green Valley.

Well done all! Keep up the great work!

Upper Elementary Thanksgiving Feast

So much work went into the preparation for today's Feast. The children worked this week to create placemats, each with a message of thanks. Parents and friends cooked  turkeys and all the fixings for an amazing spread!

I'm thankful for...
Before the food was served, each child stood up to share with their classmates  what  they are thankful for.
Here is a selection from what was shared...

A roof over my head
My teachers
My family
My friends
For food
For baseball
My pets
Good Music
My Grandmother
My Sister
Mill Falls
Everything that has happened in my life!

Happy Thanksgiving!
