Million Dollar Bike Ride:
Fundraising Outcome and Request for Applications
In May 2014, University of Pennsylvania and its Center for Orphan Disease Research and Therapy held the inaugural Million Dollar Bike Ride to raise funds for rare disease research.
The FH Foundation team was represented by our Advocates, Scott and Samir, who cycled and fundraised to make a difference for children with Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HoFH). Due to the tremendous success in team fundraising and the overwhelming generosity of Penn Medicine philanthropists, for this one year only, UPenn has increased the amount given to Team FH in the match, beyond the original dollar-for-dollar terms, to a total of $35,000!
As a result, the Center for Orphan Disease Research and Therapy, (CODRT) announces a Request for Applications (RFA) for a $35,000 Postdoctoral Fellowship in Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia. The RFA and guidelines for application are available here: Guidelines for application
