As we shared with you earlier this month, the VA recently announced that it has selected The Alexander Company and the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee to rehabilitate six historic Soldiers Home buildings as supportive housing for veterans. This is great news for the Soldiers Home and a major milestone in our shared effort to restore the district's vacant buildings to the service of veterans.

We wanted to share with you an op-ed that ran in this morning's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that celebrates this major milestone and applauds the work of people like you, who have worked tirelessly over many years to make this opportunity a reality. This announcement was only possible because of years of dedicated work, public and private partnerships and the steadfast dedication of the local community.
