April 14, 2017

Dear Cavalry Group Members,

Next week, on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017, Mindy Patterson, president of The Cavalry Group, will be testifying before the California State Assembly Committee on Business and Professions in Sacramento, California, opposing AB 485.

This bill, if passed, will outlaw the sale of animals sourced from licensed, regulated breeders, and mandate the sale of rescue dogs, cats, and rabbits in pet stores state wide in California.

Mindy's testimony will make a clear case that animals sourced from unregulated sources, such as rescues, while banning the regulated, law abiding breeders makes zero sense.  In addition to the facts surrounding the issue that mandating the sale of animals sourced from rescues puts pet stores and consumers at risk due to the unknown history and temperament of rescue animals.

Legislation such as AB 485 is crafted with intent to destroy licensed, regulated breeders and is being used as a public platform to further draw the public perception to false conclusions about the pet breeding businesses across the U.S.

One would hope that supporting our U.S. Constitution would be a bi-artisan desire, especially considering the fact that our state and federal lawmakers take an oath of office to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States.

There will be much more to Mindy's testimony, so we hope those of you who live in the Sacramento area can attend Tuesday's hearing to lend support for our side in opposition to AB 485.  Otherwise, we encourage you to watch the hearing livestream on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at 1:00 pm Pacific Time at this link: Click here

As always, we appreciate your support.

Warm regards,

Mark Patterson
