Dallas, TX): The second day of competition at the 77th Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant was held at the Allen Event Center in Allen, TX. Excitement is growing for the Saturday night July 7th crowning of the new Miss Texas 2012 by Miss Texas 2011, Kendall Morris. I93 personality, Mike Kannon from "Kannon In The Morning" served as master of ceremonies. The Miss Texas Pageant competition is open to the public and will be held in the Allen Event Center beginning at 7:00PM. Tickets are available online at www.ticketmaster.com.

The 39 Miss Texas contestants and the 49 Miss Texas' Outstanding Teen contestants compete in the following categories: private interview, lifestyle and fitness, talent, evening gown and onstage question. The winner of the Miss Texas 2012 title will compete for Miss America held in January 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Miss Texas' Outstanding Teen 2012 will compete for the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen in August 2012 in Orlando, Florida. Dillard's and Jessica Simpson are giving each contestant a pair of shoes and Skechers is donating two pairs of fitness shoes to each of the Teens. Grubbs Infiniti provides Miss Texas with an Infiniti to drive throughout her reign.
The Miss America Organization is the largest donor of scholarship assistance for young women, awarding over $45 million annually. Miss Texas 2012 will receive a $10,000 cash scholarship and the use of an Infiniti from Grubbs Infiniti. In addition to competing for scholarships, each contestant actively participates in raising funds for the Children's Miracle Network, which is the national platform of Miss America.
