Rev. Billy Graham, R.I.P.

We wish to express our sadness at the passing of Rev. Billy Graham. His ministry and life held the highest view of life, both for the here and now and for all eternity. Sadness is expressed because he is no longer with us. And yet , there is joy because he is with the Lord.

In one of his last public interviews, Dr. Graham shared his hope to hear from the Lord "Well done thou Good and Faithful servant". We at Missouri Right to Life hope Dr, Graham's life will be an inspiration to all of us for the high calling of defending all innocent lives. So that we too can be counted as good and faithful servants.

Legislative Update - February 23, 2018

Committee Hearings this week in the House and Senate included:
The Senate Insurance and Banking Committee held a hearing Tuesday, February 20 on SB 879, sponsored by Senator Paul Wieland. SB 879 allows enrollment in a health benefit plan by a pregnant person under certain circumstances.

The Senate Rules, Joint Rules, Resolutions and Ethics Committee held a hearing Tuesday, February 20 on SCR 41, sponsored by Pro-Abortion Senator Jill Schupp to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to make Missourians pay for all abortions.

Court of Appeals says Kansas can't cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood

Link - On Wednesday a three-judge panel of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals left in place a lower court injunction preventing Kansas from cutting off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood Great Plains which has two centers in Kansas and three in Missouri .

Supreme Court to hear pro-life and free speech case

Link - In November, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a case on whether a California law passed in 2015, which requires pro-life pregnancy centers to inform clients about free or low-cost abortion services, is a violation of free speech.

New York State Attorney General's Office Complicit in Fake Facebook Profile to Persecute Pro-Life Sidewalk Counselors

Link - The New York Attorney General's star witness admitted she created a fake Facebook page pretending she was a pro-life Christian to develop dossiers and entrap pro-life sidewalk counselors who appeared in front of the Choices Women's Medical Center in New York City's Jamaica neighborhood. She then passed on the information to the Attorney General's Office, which was already well aware of her fraudulent activities.

Link - In a clip memorialized for eternity, C-SPAN captured two Senators with their hands locked in an extended high five after casting votes against a proposed bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks of gestation.

Murder charge filed after nurses seen on camera laughing as veteran gasps for breath

Link - A grand jury has indicted two nurses and an aide on numerous charges, including felony murder in one case, in the death of an elderly patient who slowly died in front of them.
