Legislative Update -- Action Alert!

House Bill 1266, the Pain-capable Unborn Child Protection Act is awaiting passage in the Senate Seniors, Families and Children Committee.

This bill will prevent abortions on preborn babies over 20 weeks gestation, when science and medical practice confirm that preborn babies can feel pain.

Please pray for the passage of this critical pro-life legislation and call your Senator to ask him/her to support this bill and call for it to be brought to the Senate floor.

Buffer Zone Bill Defeated

Missouri Right to Life is excited to report that the "Buffer Zone" bill (Board Bill 34) went down to defeat in a vote at the St. Louis City Board of Alderman on Monday. The vote was 15 against to 9 in favor of the bill.

We want to thank all of you for your prayers and your contacts to the Aldermen and Alderwomen. A month ago, the likelihood of passage of this bill loomed large, but your efforts proved fruitful and good prevailed.

Know that the defeat of the "Buffer Zone" bill will save lives. Sidewalk counselors are the last hope for women entering the abortion mill. When counselors are not allowed to speak to women as they approach the gates of hell, babies die and mothers grieve!

We must continue to be vigilant as the forces of evil come back again and again and again! We will be watching next year's Aldermanic session and fight any return of the "Buffer Zone" bill or any other proposed anti-life bills.

Thank you for your commitment to life!
