This week, HB 1266, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, passed the Missouri House by a vote of 117 to 31.

This bill will prevent abortions on preborn babies over 20 weeks gestation, when science and medical practice confirm that preborn babies can feel pain.

Now the bill heads over to the Senate. Please call your Senator and ask him/her to support and vote for HB 1266. Preborn babies need our protection!

Budget Work Moves From the House to the Senate:

Pro-life provisions within the Appropriation Bills include:

Continued funding for Alternatives to Abortion Program and the Show-Me Healthy Babies Program.
A new program to help pregnant women on Medicaid to access rehabilitation services from opioid addiction so babies are not born addicted to drugs.
Pro-life protections to prevent our tax dollars from being used for abortion services, human cloning and embryonic stem cell research.
And, the House approved amendments to prevent our tax dollars from being used for abortions or abortion services as well as prohibiting subsidiary organizations that are connected to abortion facilities from receiving our tax dollars.

Court Activity:

Statutes to require abortion facilities to abide by the same health regulations as other ambulatory surgical centers and the requirement that an abortionist have hospital privileges within 30 miles of an abortion facility in case there are medical emergencies are being heard in federal court this week. The hearings are on-going. We will keep you updated.
